We are looking for a Project Engineer with a technical background and interest in industrial projects supporting the energy transition. In this role, you will work across engineering, permitting, procurement and project execution to help drive the realization of our e-Fuel projects through close collaboration with internal teams, engineering contractors, suppliers and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

In your position as Project Engineer at Norsk e-Fuel, you will work closely with our project management team, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive and implement technical solutions supporting the realization of our e-Fuel projects. Your responsibilities will include to:

  • Coordinate engineering activities and technical interfaces
    Coordinate interfaces between engineering disciplines, permitting, procurement and other project workstreams, ensuring alignment across internal teams, external partners, suppliers, and service providers
  • Drive engineering follow-up and technical coordination
    Follow up technical deliverables, engineering progress, process and design interfaces and interdisciplinary coordination across different project phases, including FEED activities
  • Contribute to engineering activities across the full project lifecycle
    Support the development of our project portfolio from site identification, concept development, and permitting through FEED, construction, and commissioning towards first production of e-Fuel
  • Support technical procurement and contractor selection
    Define project scopes, prepare technical specifications, establish tender milestones, evaluate bids, and support contractor selection and negotiations through techno-economic assessments
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and project execution
    Maintain project schedules, support cost and effort estimates, monitor budgets, technical risks, and quality targets, and coordinate prioritization of activities to ensure timely execution of project milestones
  • Support reporting and continuous improvement
    Report on project progress, escalate critical issues, capture lessons learned, and contribute to the further development of internal documentation, processes, and project frameworks

Your profile:

  • A university or technical college degree in engineering (e.g. process, chemical, mechanical or energy)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project engineering, ideally in chemical process industries, hydrogen technologies, energy infrastructure or related industrial sectors.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering activities and coordinating interfaces with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical disciplines and project teams, combined with a structured, hands-on and solution-oriented working style with a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced and interdisciplinary project environment
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in a Nordic language is an asset. Willingness to travel for project work and stakeholder engagement is expected.
